VNU Spring2009 - Day 3

Welcome to Day#3.  I hope everyone had a good weekend and didn't work too hard on all of the assigments. I realize we covered a lot in the first two days, but I'm impressed with the progress you've made as a class. Today, we're going to review a bit and learn about recording, editing, and publishing audio.

      Most people seem to have figured out where to properly post assignments.  Regarding some of your first assignments, make sure your introduction is posted on your profile, your computer experiences are posted on this forum topic, and your Day#1 comments about three interesting websites are a blog post.

    The first part of this course aims to expose you to a variety of tools and encourages you to play with them . The second part of the course aims to help you  build resources that will be most useful to you as an EFL teacher and professional educator.

  • Audio Recording & Editing
    Being able to record, edit, and publish audio is one of the most useful CALL skills.  Today, we will being learning how to do so using a free open-source program called Audacity.

  • Lab Time
    Work on Skills Training  from Day#2 and today.  Use skype group chat for instant messaging.

  • Assignments
    • Prepare to discuss in small groups what you learned from the Day#2 language skill readings
    • Work on any unfinished assignments, continue adding sites of interest to your Delicious account, look for readings of interest, and complete any unfinished assignments.
