Week#10 - The End is Near!
June 5, 2008
Small Group Presentations
We will set up three 'recording stations' in different classrooms.
Take turns using Audacity to record a 5-15 minute presentation and/or tour of your proejcts. Let your fellow group members know if you'd prefer to take questions throughout your presentation or at the end. Group members, please ask questions and make comments that will help that person further develop their work.
- Make sure to check audio levels before you begin and have at least one group member an eye on it while speaking
- As soon as you finish, save the audio as an .aup project file (File/Save as) and then export it as a 128kbs mp3 (File/export)
- We will make sure each person has a copy of their mp3 file (on flash drive and/or saved online) by the end of class.
- As soon as possible, but by Monday at the latest, please edit the audio, re-export as a 64kbs mp3 file, and post it on the efl537.com website.
- This does not need to be a smooth, polished audio presentation. The purpose of editing is simply to remove long pauses, um's, and make for easier listening. The purpose of this assignment is to share your work with the class, and provide you with feedback and an opportunity for reflection.
Homestretch Assignments
Screencasting your faves
- Create short screencasts describing two CALL Tools or skills and two websites or web-based resources. That's four screencasts total.
- Please choose items that have or will be most useful to you in practicing CALL. Include an overview of why the item is useful and how you might use it in your practice and/or professional development
- Please post this as screencast on efl537.com (and your personal site if you wish). You can restrict access to classmats only if you wish.
- Please limit screencast width to 900 pixels and height to 550 pixels.
Personal Site Tweaking
Make sure your personal site has been adequately developed. Some common things to work on: (mostly for blog users. Html site builders, we can address your tweaks during class).
- Delete original 'Hello World' post.
- Replace the default tagline.
- Make sure you have created post categories - examples Bird , Shawn
- Make sure you have replaced default 'blogroll' links with your own. Categorize if you wish.
- Make sure you have either a page or post category for 'Tools' and EFL537 portfolio. I suggest a post category.
- Adding a del.icio.us widget is a good way to keep some fresh content on your site.
- Make sure you have tagged relevant Del.icio.us bookmarks with 'efl537'.
