Using Podcasts in the EFL Classroom

If teaching is only provide knowledge about what learners want to get and the lesson is simple to vocabulary, grammar, skills, ... teaching and learning process will be so boring. Teachers should motivate learners' ability of using target language in high level thinking in the development of cognitive strategies that helps teachers and learners a lot to work effectively. How Technology Supports Thinking: Besides the motivation in speaking, technology plays an important role in encourage thinking skills such as learning activities, cognitive activities,... with tasks that designed suitably and carefully will support thinking and problem solving better because they create critical thinking and challenging if those are interesting, attractive, meaningful, and suitable activities. By using computers, radios, sounds, pictures, internet, websites, ... Not only the learners but teachers have to spend a lot of time to make the lessons exciting and language become realer and nearer to life. There is an interaction between teachers and learners as technology can create open situations which both teachers and learners may not predict the deriving questions or answers from planned exercises. Therefore, teachers have their learners develop thingking skills immediately in the class. Learners can imagine real language through images they see or conversations they practice. When learners pay attention to the language they are learning, when learners can apply what they learn into practice or lives, they feel more confidents to make request or responses for what they know that encourage learners have right orien for themselves in learning process. Declarative and procedure knowledge should be developed parallelly so the best solutions will be found and satisfied by using technology which also help learners have short and long-term memory. Technology will make learners receive language gradually. From acquaitancce, knowledge, comprehetion, application, analysis, and evaluation. As we know, WebQuests are designed to use learners' time well, to focus on using information rather than looking for it, and to support learners' thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation. Teachers should design lesson form input, modeling, and check for understanding. To use technology to teach thinking skills effectively, teachers need to be flexible in designing as well as selecting suitable language, activities, tasks, exercises, sounds, pictures in each lesson d so that they can get the best result their learners can achieve their goals in learning process.

As the Chi-Fen Emily Chen mentions It has long been recognized that reading and writing are integrally linked and in fact share many of the same cognitive and social processes. - Readers and writers are both active participants in interpreting and constructing meaning from text.- Reading and writing both emphasize the importance of schemata in mind about the content and form of text. - Reading and writing are both complicated, interactive, and recursive processes. For a long time, second language writing has been focused from form first, then the writer, next the content and now it focuses on the owreaders that means to approach to teaching writing and the use of computers, second language writing was in process from form-focus approach, then process-focused approach, to content-based approach to content-based approach and now readers / audience-dominated approach. From controlled writing to accuracy and combined with other skills, learners know what or how they write or even evaluate their writing themselves. In different steps such as prewriting, writing the outline or the draft, responding, revising and editing then evaluating, learners can form their writing to write better. Therefore, learners have to have knowledge about culture of the language they learn, teachers need to combine different techniques such as audio, video, graphic,... to teach, teachers must also motivate critical thinking to help learners do problem-solving tasks. The author suggests a lot of things using the Internet, for example: websites, online dicionary, online library, online lesson plans, ... that teachers and students can use and reuse. Teachers and students can access to blogs, forums, clubs,... to share their experiences and help each others to learn, to teach or to use technology to learn or teach more effectively. Nobody or nothing is the best, how to do something flexibly and select suitable things to do is more difficult but more valuable

Technology in my teaching writing skill.

Writing skill is the most difficult one compared with other skills according to the statistics of recent servey in my school. Most of them dislike writing because they donot know how to start writing it, espectially an essay. Well-writers require not only good at The ideas, the background knowledge but also the performing language so I have faced to many difficulties in teaching this skill.I tossed and turned for a long time to find the way to help them improve. I aplied a lot of methods and techniques to attract them to my lesson and technology is the best way.Are you interested in how I do to make them write easer? please take a look below desciptions: I tried to use my school projector as much as possible to show the lesson.Before writing, I show the pictures on the screen to elicit them to the topic they must write.Let them think of the newwords, the useful languages related to the writing. I donot have to spend so much time to write it on the board and students can remember those easily. In while writing part, I design some tasks and state it on the screen without using other teaching aids. Even homework is viewed,not read as before. students are not confused, they write what they think and not stop to correct mistakes . I always motivate them write at home therefore,their skills are diferent from beginning.I am very exited with sites sending from my teacher in this course,It will be verious and useful resourses Where I can get the materials supporting for my teaching work. ,

Audacity' advantages

Audacity is a marvelous program. We can do many things with it such as designing our own listening for the students, practising singing song and adjust it according to our dedire or sending it to friends in order to enjoy which we can not do if there is any guidance. This course make me better at high technology.
